Our City Council needs more people like Nancy Goodloe who is a straight talker about the real concerns of the city but does so with understanding, compassion and kindness.
Nancy has years of experience in public life. Nancy knows how to listen, gather and process information, make principled decisions, and do what's best for citizens now and those of the future.
I proudly support Nancy Goodloe for City Council because she brings a clear, unwavering commitment to building a city where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. In a time when true equity and belonging are more important than ever, Nancy stands out as a leader who not only understands the challenges faced by marginalized communities but also takes action to address them. She doesn't just talk about change—she leads it with integrity, compassion, and a collaborative spirit.
You know who represents me and mine on the council? Nancy Goodloe. She thinks about not only *what* to say at meetings but also *how* to say it in ways that will resonate with those she serves. Nancy is diplomatic, slow to anger yet passionate with a huge heart. She knows when to break out the jokes and when the people need a champion to help advocate for them and/or their respective community.
She is courageous and brave and her public speaking skills just keep getting better and better. She speaks with great diction and knows when to let others know to speak up too. Honestly one of the most disability- friendly and accessible people the council has seen since Bruce Tabb.
Even when rattled or worn from emotionally charged discussions, Nancy fights especially hard for those who have historically felt silenced and erased. Nancy is what a civil servant should look like and act like. I'm Team Goodloe.
During these times of uncertainty, leaders must have the vision not only to get us through it, but the ability to approach social issues from a 360 degree point of view, in order to understand, communicate and listen to every one of our neighbors, who shares and are directly affected by decisions made by true leadership.
Nancy Goodloe possess the wisdom, experience and empathy to put herself in "someone else's shoes", thus deeply understanding different points of view, which is what's badly needed to represent critical issues that affect each one of us.
I am writing to endorse Nancy Goodloe for Ellensburg City Council, Position 2. I am a current city of Ellensburg resident. I work within the city of Ellensburg as a Manager and VocationalRehabilitation Counselor for a private Vocational firm. I first came to Ellensburg as a student, attending the Mental Health Counseling program at Central Washington University after moving across the country from Ohio. After completing my program, I left Washington for several years, returning in June of 2012. I have lived here ever since and have worked at a variety of local organizations (Ellensburg School District, Thorp School District, and Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center – to name a few). I came back because this town and its residents welcomed me. I felt at home here – and knew I wanted to build a life here.
I grew up within a family that valued the importance of volunteering, respecting, welcoming others, and working together to solve problems. When I met Nancy, I could see that she valued the same things. Nancy has already served two terms on the Council, and I believe this puts her in a prime position to see what has worked, what still needs improving, and how best to reach the goals that require all the public servants within the city to work together. Nancy is respectful, dedicated, and not afraid to advance programs and activities that drive the city’s progress forward for all residents, not just those with the loudest voices.
In this age where anyone can smear another person online with little repercussion, Nancy takes the high road. She is here advocating priorities the City Council has voted for to serve the residents of the City of Ellensburg to the best of her ability. Before you vote this cycle, please consider what values you seek to see in the leaders who serve our city and its residents. I’m not really even talking about ideologies or beliefs that you share with the candidates. I’m talking about how those candidates live out their values. What behaviors do you want to see in your leaders? Do you want to see your leaders explain their positions with understanding for opposing positions? Do you want to see leaders respect each other and work together towards the agreed upon goals? Do you want to see leaders show up in public the same way they do on their council or private pages? I endorse Nancy Goodloe because I respect her, and I know that she is
serving Ellensburg in a way that residents should be proud of. That is what I am looking for in a leader.
